Mascagni Academy: 2024 call for entries open, featuring three international calls and one Italian call.

The Mascagni Academy's operatic titles to be performed in the Mascagni Festival 2024 will be Pietro Mascagni's "Cavalleria rusticana" and Giacomo Puccini's "Gianni Schicchi.

The Mascagni Academy, a department of Livorno's Teatro Goldoni Foundation, aims to increase knowledge of the Mascagni repertoire and the composers of his contemporaries in young singers, encouraging their aspirations through an artistic and professional path that offers them the opportunity to train and perfect themselves in this particular repertoire, which is challenging but full of fascination. "The Mascagni Academy is an activity in which we believe a lot," says Marco Voleri, artistic director of the Mascagni Festival, "because it gives us the opportunity to open up to the world, to confront new challenges, focusing on creativity and the richness of different sensibilities, with ever new stimuli. All in the name of a composer who made courage and musical innovation his personal manifesto."

Two international calls are planned for the 2024 edition: the first will be held in Lugano, Switzerland, on February 7, 2024, in collaboration with LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura; the second will be hosted on March 22, 2024, at the Plovdiv Opera House (Bulgaria)

The Italian auditions will be held on May 13, 2024 at the Goldoni Theater in Livorno.

The Mascagni Academy will take place from June 11-20, 2024, in Livorno, Italy.

A high-level training entrusted to professional teachers, with an extensive training program. Academy students will participate in the masterclass by Massimo Cavalletti

The Mascagni Academy again this year confirms itself as a possible springboard for the singers who will participate: in fact, at the end of the courses, young people will be selected through auditions to whom they will be entrusted with possible roles in the Mascagni Festival productions and concerts that will be organized during the summer in Italy and abroad.

A Diploma of Participation will be issued upon completion of the course.
